1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Nexus Forensics Inc. websites, sales communications, support communications, and product-related business operations. It does not replace any written agreement between Nexus Forensics and a customer organization.
2. Information we may collect
We may collect contact details, business information, support messages, purchase records, licensing information, and communications you send to us. If you purchase through the Vendor on Record, the Vendor on Record may collect payment, tax, billing, and transaction information.
3. Evidence and case data
Nexus Forensics products are designed around a zero-cloud, local-first evidence model. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, Nexus Forensics Inc. does not collect, host, process, or access the evidence files analyzed by the software. Evidence processing, indexing, storage, retention, and review remain under the customer's physical and digital control.
The software is designed to preserve visible, user-selected evidence, such as on-screen content, screenshots, local files, and source-linked case material. It is not designed to bypass platform controls, scrape hidden data, or access non-visible account content.
Case files, local indexes, reports, captured media, metadata, hashes, and investigator notes remain on the user's workstation or on infrastructure controlled by the customer organization. This reduces vendor custody, third-party disclosure, and unnecessary data transfer risk.
4. How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries, provide quotes, deliver software licenses, support customers, manage subscriptions, improve products, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and communicate about Nexus Forensics products and services.
5. Payment processing
Payments may be processed by the Vendor on Record. The Vendor on Record may process personal information needed for checkout, taxes, fraud prevention, invoices, subscription management, refunds, and buyer support. The Vendor on Record's privacy practices may be described in its own privacy policy.
6. Sharing information
We do not sell evidence data. We do not use analyzed evidence data for advertising, resale, cross-context behavioral advertising, or third-party data brokerage. We may share limited business, billing, or support information with service providers that help us operate the website, communicate with customers, process payments, provide software, or meet legal obligations.
7. Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards for business information we control. Nexus Forensics products are designed to support encrypted local repositories, local or agency-network indexes, audit logs, visible-capture provenance records, policy-gated compliance workflows, and user-configured retention workflows for case files. Customers remain responsible for configuring access, retention, backup, deletion, and disclosure controls for their own evidence repositories.
We retain contact, support, licensing, and billing records only as long as needed for business, legal, accounting, security, and compliance purposes.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding personal information. To make a request, contact sales@nexus-forensics.ca. For Vendor on Record payment-related privacy requests, you may also need to contact the Vendor on Record.
9. Privacy framework alignment
Nexus Forensics' local-first architecture is designed to support data minimization, limiting collection, limiting use, limiting disclosure, limiting retention, and safeguards for sensitive investigative material by keeping captures limited to visible, user-selected case material. Our compliance position page includes additional detail about PIPEDA, CCPA, and CPRA alignment.
10. International processing
Business, support, and billing information may be processed in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or other locations where Nexus Forensics or its service providers operate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
